Real Estate SaaS
From 0 to $billions
An enterprise platform grown from zero to 500k users handling billions in transactions -- shipped by a 7-person UX team built to run itself.
Context
A suite of enterprise applications for real-estate transaction management, serving 500,000 users and supporting billions of dollars in transactions. I led design across the product ecosystem while staying hands-on in the work.
Parties Management
The hardest workflow in the suite: managing every participant in a transaction -- buyers, sellers, agents, attorneys, lenders -- without sending users on a tour of the app. The design keeps the entire workflow inside a handful of surfaces, trading page navigation for progressive disclosure.
Down with the System
I inherited a Material-based design system and evolved it into something the org actually governs: a Design Council, a managed component library, and monthly releases. Custom components -- date picker, filter patterns, upload flows -- were built where Material's defaults fought the domain.
The self-managing team
Seven designers, four organizational restructures, zero dropped products. I codified how the team works into SOPs -- E-Myth style -- so quality didn't depend on any one person being in the room. The processes outlived the restructures.
Platform details
Beyond the flagship workflows: a closing checklist that turns the memory game of closing on a property into tracked state, and commercial real-estate tools pushed onto mobile.
